Fresh Start hosted a recent visit from members of the Scottish Churches Housing Action.

We had the opportunity at our recent AGM to thank everyone involved in making this another successful year – our dedicated committee members and volunteers, partner organisations, and of course everyone who has donated money or items for the starter packs.  In the year to 31st March we were able to make up home starter packs to support 198 adults and 80 children right across the Borders.  And thanks to the generous support from the Co-op local causes fund, we will be adding toiletries to the packs this year.

The AGM of Fresh Start Borders will take place on Wednesday 24th May 2017 in Church House, Viewfield Park, Selkirk at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome, or we are happy to take your suggestions for discussion.

Once again, our thanks go to everyone who supported Fresh Start by signing up to the the Co-Op’s local community support programme.  Fresh Start was one of 3 charities each receiving over £2,000, raised by Co-op members donating a percentage of their dividend and supplemented by the 5p bag charge.

Great news – thanks to all the people who signed up for the Co-Op Local Causes scheme, funds donated to Fresh Start so far have passed the £1,000 mark!

There are still 3 weeks left to sign up to the scheme and raise even more funds. Co-op tells us that there are still over £2,000 in the local community fund to be allocated.

Follow the link below to sign up to the scheme and earn points on your card and raise funds for Fresh Start.

Fresh Start Borders would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, and to thank all our supporters for your generous support over the past year; for the financial gifts, donated items, your time and your willingness to tell others about what we do. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

You can now support Fresh Start Borders when you shop at the Co-op as part of their local causes scheme. All you need to do is log on using your membership card details and select Fresh Start as the cause you’d like to support between now and March 17th.

Our long-term supporters, Morrisons in Hawick, have done it again! They recently donated a car-load of goods that we can include in our home starter packs. These are discontinued lines but all new condition and are hugely appreciated. Thanks Morrisons!

We are in need of storage tins or tupperware boxes, so please donate if you have any to spare.

Here is a lovely comment from one of our partners:

Just wanted to thank you and your team once again for the assistance you have given us.  Your service is a godsend to help people set up home.
