At our AGM in July, the chair reported that 245 packs of household goods had been supplied in the past 12 months, assisting 264 adults and 120 children in the Scottish Borders area.
Requests for home starter packs come from SBC, Penumbra, SBHA, Berwickshire Housing Association and other housing associations and organisations across the region.
We extend our thanks to everyone who has contributed to Fresh Start this year: the Trustees, committee members and volunteers who continue to give their time and energy to ensure the smooth running of the charity, the agency support workers, and Home Basics for their assistance with deliveries and PAT testing. And of course, our thanks go to all our donors – individuals and local organisations who make regular or one-off financial contributions, and those who donate items for the packs. We couldn’t achieve it all without you.
Here’s to another year of loving our neighbours by giving practical support as they move out of homelessness into their first homes.

We would like to wish all our supporters and followers a very happy New Year. We are grateful for all the support you have given over the past 12 months. Thanks also to our volunteers who do so much to keep the donations sorted, the packs made up, the record-keeping, the publicity, and all the other jobs they quietly get on with to keep things running so smoothly.

We enjoyed a recent visit from Angela, who is community officer with Bell UK. She brought a donation of kettles and duvets and stayed for the morning to help make up starter packs.
Thanks to SBHA, who nominated us for this help.
